Learning Supports Available to Students Ahead of Midterm Season

Learning Development & Success is a service available for all Western undergraduate and graduate students with questions about learning strategies, including test prepration and writing, or more general concerns about their academics, including how to manage a university course load or manage their time leading up to exams. Some of the services provided to support students through this midterm season include:

  • Peer-Assisted Learning Centre – free, individualized drop in help to develop problem solving skills, assist with course specific learning questions and improve academic skills and performance (with extended hours on Oct. 3rd and Oct. 5th)
  • Presentations – In person and asynchronous presentations on a wide variety of learning skills topics! Click here for the schedule of in-person presentations delivered in the Weldon Library!
  • Confidential Learning Appointments – one-on-one help with academic skills & strategies
  • Mindfulness Supports – Self-guided online courses and materials, as well as drop-in and registration based mindfulness groups to improve students’ focus, lower anxiety and enhance learning
  • Specialized Servicesgraduate student supports (for both Masters and Ph.D. students), as well as programming for varsity athletes through ASP: Sport!
